Matching Pilot and Steed: Turtrus and the Death Crab
I've written before about the fun you can have with Wulfbanes in a Stormcrow stuffed with clan SRM6's, well in the latest version of BTA we can go one better...
Behold, the Death Crab, a Star League Crab (with cooling bonus) equipped with a single Death Ray and a precision computer for bypassing defence bonuses. Mixed with Turtrus' natural affinity with Crabs and skills focussing on more damage for energy weapons and have my new favourite pilot/toy combination.

That's a good question. It was implemented with the latest patch. It's one of the RWR superweapons. You either need to bend the knee to brokeback budget genghis khan so you can buy them from his faction store or destroy his shit till you collect one. As for what it does, I have no idea. They don't exist on the wiki yet. Unfortunately the wiki is pretty out of date atm.

I salvaged two from smashing the RWR out of the core worlds (plus a few Atom Smasher/10's, great fun but heavy). The Death Ray does 160 base damage but generates 80 heat - this set up though can run and fire every turn, even in hot terrain and with the breacher targeting computer it's a one shot kill/cripple weapon on almost everything.

Oh that's just nasty !
I need to go get myself a few of those. I am currently hanging out around Terra because I needed to finish earning enough WoB rep to access their faction store. I wanted to get a few of their toys and some of their mechs. The Omega is ridonculous.
